Ms. Tina Hicks was an awesome anchor at 13WMAZ. I enjoyed seeing and listening to her nightly for years. I had the pleasure of meeting her and sharing with her how much I admired her work at 13WMAZ. She was very humble, kind and personable. I felt as though I had known her for a long time. I will never forget her smile and the calmness with which she spoke to me on the day that I met her. She was truly an icon!

I am so saddened about the death of Tina Hicks. She was a true icon 4 WMAZ TV. We shared the same birthday maybe that is why I always felt she was more like family than a newscaster. It saddens my heart so much to know that we'd lost such a wonderful woman. No one after her it could ever take her place on the news desk. She did not just deliver the news she did it with her heart. My condolences and sympathy to all her family she was in my opinion the best newscaster WMAZ ever had. I have missed her since the day she left WMAZ and now my heart is full of sadness to know that she has left this Earth. WMAZ TV news was by far the best local news with Tina Hicks she was so friendly. She made you feel like you were a real friend of hers she will be missed tremendously may God bless her family and maybe they'd receive comfort in knowing how many people thought of her the same way I did. There will never be another Tina Hicks

Early on I have known you as a client while rendering hair services, and as a neighbor before you were married. Also, I was your mother’s and grandmother’s beautician. You were all beautiful ladies with loving personalities and are greatly missed. You always had that infectious smile that captivated the hearts of many whom you came in contact. I enjoyed watching you broadcast the news every afternoon, of which you did an excellent job.
RIP Tina

Much sympathy to Tina’s family. I can’t think of news in our area without thinking of her. She had such a great on air personality and you knew it came from such a great place. She was compassionate and involved in her community and her love for it was evident. She was missed when no longer on the airwaves but I’d bet the airwaves of heaven are a little brighter with her there! Thank you for sharing her with all of us all those many years.
With sympathy,

I went to school with Tina at Southwest 1971. Tina was a very smart and classy lady in the 12th grade. I introduced her to Calvin Hicks and they married and had 2 children. I left Macon right out of school and when I came back, Tina was a anchor for WMAZ, did not surprise me. I knew Tina would be something great in life and she did! It breaks my heart she had health issues and her candle burned out waaay too soon. RIP my dear friend!

My family and I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Hicks family. I came to know Tina when she recognized me from a column I did called "Straight Talk". I also thanked her for the fantastic anchoring she did. She suddenly became a friend and shared her journey. I cherish the memories of those conversations and her genuine openness. She believed in God and gave him praise for being there through her seasons of life. She always embraced me with a Christian hug before we departed. Today, Jesus embraces her with an eternity of love. I miss you friend and sister. Enjoy the eternal glory that surrounds you. One day we will meet again.

Sending condolences to one of the best news anchors of all time. Tina brought joy into our hearts whether it was on television or throughout the community here in Middle Georgia for years! To me, she was a local celebrity whether you saw her out and about at the grocery store or covering the local news. I felt like I knew her personally growing up. She was our “Monica Kauffman (Pearson)” and a true pioneer throughout Central Georgia! You will be truly missed, Tina!! God bless your soul and keep your family protected with His loving arms!!

In the summer of 1976, I moved to Macon from Long Island, New York. Right away, Tina Hicks became my favorite newscaster. She was an admirable lady who showed a great love for her community and compassion for others. I did not see her last broadcast as I moved to North Carolina, but I will always be a fan and will always remember her. To her family and friends, God bless you and keep you in perfect peace.
