Lochner, Amelda E.
LODI - Amelda E. Lochner, age 91, passed away on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021. She was born on Oct. 6, 1930, in Sumpter, Wis., the daughter of the late Conrad and Elizabeth (Henn) Paepke.
On May 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Alex Lochner. He preceded her in death in 2006. Since 1956 they operated their farm until semi-retiring in 1989, when their sons took over. She took great pride in handling her share of the endless chores, caring for her chickens and baby calves, gardening and raising her children.
Amelda had a strong devotion to her faith and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she was actively involved. She enjoyed being part of several area sewing groups and spent countless hours crocheting or hand stitching bindings on quilts, which she never felt she needed to be recognized for as it was another way of her giving.
Amelda is survived by her children, Yvonne (Mike) Hope, Kathleen (Gary) Hellenbrand, Patrick (Beverly), Karen (Dennis) Welsh, Beverly (Duane) Eberle, Carla (John) Lehr, and Ron (Patti); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Helen Paepke, Sadie Paepke Hefty, Elaine Lochner, Margaret (Robert) Nachreiner, and Ann Gaukel; brother-in-law, Earl (Chris) Lochner; other relatives; and many friends.
In addition to her husband, Alex, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Dean Paepke; and her brothers-in-law, Victor (Betty), Jerome, and Kenneth (Mary Jane) Lochner, and Tom Gaukel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH at ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH, 521 Fair St., Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, with the Rev. Father Joseph Baker presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family requests masks to be worn. Livestreaming of the service will be provided by the church at https://youtu.be/7qVVvoeSg20.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Sauk Prairie Hospital and Haven Hills for their loving care of Amelda.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can never express to you how important Amelda was in my life. She has helped with sewing on bindings for Hearts and Hands for years. Even after her shoulder surgery she was willing to start sewing again. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.
