Ann Elizabeth Dorn, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on September 19, 1950 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Eugene and Ruth Hermanson. She married the love of her life Jerry E. Dorn on July 29, 1972, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2023.
Ann was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and School and enjoyed serving as Choir Director, leading bible study, and singing for various events. She was an Elementary Teacher for Zion Lutheran Church School in Columbus and Peace Lutheran Church and School in Sun Prairie until her retirement in 2015. She loved all her students and was passionate about making education accessible for all types of learners. Ann also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jessica (Danny Kruger) Jensen, Miriam (Matt) Reid, and Adrianne (Kevin Stewart) Dorn; 11 grandchildren, Tyler (Lizzy) Jensen, Hannah Holte, Jamie Holte, Jarred (Alina) Holte, Brianna Dorn, Isabella Reid, Gabriel Reid, Alayna Reid, Dominic Reid, Nevaeh Dorn, and Odin Knope; great-grandson, James Jensen; sister, Kathy (Tom) Retzlaff; and brothers, Roger (Lynn) Hermanson, Jim (Julie) Hermanson, Pastor Greg (Carol) Hermanson, and Rick (Lisa) Hermanson; Jerry's siblings Rosie Nonn, Dee Olsen, Ray Nonn, and Mike Loniello; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jerry.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1007 Stonehaven Road, Sun Prairie, with Rev. Luke Werre officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, and from 10 a.m. to the time of the services at church on Saturday.
Family would like to thank Agrace Hospice Team for providing exceptional care to Ann and her family, especially Lindsey and Devon who always made her smile.
