Brian Crubaugh Obituary

Brian James Crubaugh

Feb. 22, 1957 - Jan. 30, 2024

DODGEVILLE – Brian James Crubaugh, age 66, of Dodgeville, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 surrounded by his girls.

He was born February 22, 1957, and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1975. Brian was a force of nature, owning and working long hours at the Quality Bakery, providing delicious treats to generations of area patrons. He married the woman of his dreams, Julie Pross, in 1979, and celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. One of his greatest joys was working early hours in the bakery with his daughter, Courtney. Teaching her traditions passed down from generations.

These past years he lived a full life with his wife Julie, two daughters and six grandchildren. So many adventures at the lake fishing, in the woods horn hunting, and watching his grandchildren play. Brian loved to be called Dad, but his greatest treasures called him Papa. Seeing his girls and grandchildren grow into who they were supposed to be brought a wonderful sense of meaning to his life.

There are so many humorous tales, stories of care and selflessness, but in the end, he loved so much and was loved in return. If you want to look for him, walk in the woods or throw a line in the water. He will be there in one form or another.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Florence Crubaugh.

He is survived by his wife, Julie (Pross) Crubaugh; his daughters Courtney (Eric) Mallon and Katie (Andrew) Harrington; his beloved grandchildren Jaden, Josie, Ellie, Jordyn, Jaxon, and Eddie. Brian is survived by his siblings David (Kris) Crubaugh, Mark Crubaugh, Terry (David) Olson, Mary (Dan) Esch, Joseph (Kim) Crubaugh, Chris (Tori) Crubaugh and Sheri (Jerry) Johnson; his sister-in-law Jennifer Pross; his brother-in-law Jeff Pross.

A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Brian was a huge supporter of many local organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite local charity in his memory.
