RIDGEWAY - David G. Sutter, age 84, of Ridgeway, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
He was born on September 24, 1937, in Blue Mounds, a son of the late Walter and Mildred (Lund) Sutter. He graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1955, and enlisted in the U. S. Army and served for two years.
David worked at the University of Wisconsin - Madison as a painter for many years, retiring in 2000.
David is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Sharon; his sons: Brian (Christine) Sutter and Eric (Ellen White) Sutter; his step-children: Ann (Tom) Brunker, Laura (Roy) Gutowsky and Steve Johnson; his brother, Duane (Julie) Sutter; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Craig Sutter; his brothers: Walter and Keith Sutter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Ridgeway. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Sunday at the church. After the Mass, Military Rites will be held at the church by the Ridgeway American Legion.
