Edward McDermott

MADISON - Edward McDermott, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Mary's Care Center. He was born on Jan. 5, 1932, in Janesville, the son of Willard and Alice (Hagerty) McDermott.
Ed graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in 1950 and the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, where he obtained a master's degree. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a job counselor for the government. Ed was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his daughter, Therese "Teri" McDermott; sons, Gary (Marie) McDermott, Steven McDermott, Michael (Junis) McDermott and Brian McDermott; and grandchildren, David McDermott and Jessica McDermott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Alice.
