Eileen Juno Obituary

Eileen Deutsch Juno

April 22, 1942 - Aug. 2, 2023

REEDSABURG - Eileen Deutsch Juno passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg with her husband at her side.

She was born to loving parents Mathew and Anna (Gerrits) Deutsch on April 22, 1942. She was brought home to their Stanley, WI, farm to be warmly greeted by six siblings: Margaret (Deutsch) Ebben, Raymond Deutsch, Jeanette (Deutsch) Fitzsimmons, Rose Ann (Deutsch) Polnasek, Ronald Deutsch, Mary Jane (Deutsch) Madisen. All of whom have predeceased her.

Given her love of books/reading, it is no surprise that she spoke of her life in chapters. Chapter 1 includes the fun high school years of cheerleading, school band and dances, etc. Next, she and a girlfriend moved to Milwaukee to seek their fortune. There she met and later married Tom Juno. They were blessed with two children, Paul and Kathleen (Juno) Muszynski. Kathleen and her husband, Wally Muszynski, delighted Tom and Eileen with grandchildren, Michael and April. April and her partner, Christopher Anderson, brought Christian Anderson into their lives.

While in Milwaukee area, she worked 26 years for a manufacturing company where she made some lifelong friends including four with whom she vacationed for 37 years. She attended evening and weekend classes at Alverno College where she earned her Bachelor Degree. The arrival of grandchildren provided reason for the move to Reedsburg. In Reedsburg she found a new career as a volunteer for Reedsburg Area Helping Hands. Although there was no pay involved, she said it was very rewarding. It was in Reedsburg that Tom passed in 2004.

And so begins chapter 2. After ten years of widowhood, thanks to the internet, she met and married Gary Gilbertson. She said the Good Lord was certainly watching over her as there could not have been a better husband. Prior to her illness, they enjoyed much traveling and many good times.

Her final chapter was spent in the comfort of the Sauk County Health Center until her death on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Gilbertson; her son, Paul; daughter, Kathleen; and her beloved son-in-law, Wally Muszynski; Michael and April and her partner Christopher Anderson; grandson, Christian Anderson; step-children: Christine (Kevin) Reineke, Catherine (James) Goodweiler; step grandchildren, Allison, Jacob and Nicole Reineke; along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her first husband Tom; she was preceded in death by her six brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Eileen on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic in Reedsburg. The Reverend John Blewett will be the Celebrant. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be made on Wednesday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Boyd, WI.
