OREGON - James Francis Rose, age 67, of Oregon, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare, after a short but courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on April 6, 1958, in Highland, the son of Leo and Mary (Welch) Rose.
James graduated from Highland High School in 1976. He married Linda "Lyn" Rose on February 14, 1987, in Madison, Wis. He worked in maintenance and as a mechanic for UW-Madison, retiring on April 1, 2015.
James was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
James is survived by his wife, Lyn; sons, Michael (Jenni) White and Joe (Trisha) Rose; daughters, Linsi Wick, Heidi (Seth) Anderson and bonus daughter, Jessie (Brian) Bailey; grandchildren, Avery, Brooke, Ryleigh, Devon, Aria, Mika and Easton; sisters, Linda (Bruce) Womack, Theresa (Donnie) Bomkamp, Sue (Jerry) Adamatz and Jan (Steve) Armstrong; brother, Bob (Aggie) Rose; brother-in-law, Gary Schmelzer (Terri); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Leo; and brother, Don Rose.
A celebration of life will be held at Gunderson Oregon Funeral & Cremation Care, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 3 to 7 p.m., on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Special thanks to Russ and Mary Zuelke, Mary and Ken Gay, Jim and Linda Helt and Sandy and Tom McKinlay for the travel adventures, the laughs, the love and the support.
