Liebmann, John M.
BRIGHAM TOWNSHIP– John M. Liebmann, born 96 years ago on Aug. 31, 1925, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at Ingleside Nursing Home, Mount Horeb, Wis.
John was born in Milwaukee, Wis. He served as a weather observer for the U.S. Air Force in the mid-1940s. John later attended UW-Madison where he achieved a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering and met the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Dorothy "Mims" (Roeder) Liebmann. John's career spanned many years with Research Products Corporation (RPC) in Madison, Wis., where he served as chief design engineer having major responsibilities and accomplishments for design and upgrades to RPC products.
John enjoyed traveling including numerous trips abroad. After retiring, John and Dorothy moved out to their farm in Blue Mounds where he and his sons built and operated a sawmill as a business and a hobby. His son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Terri, still run the sawmill today. John and Dorothy also returned to UW-Madison where they audited an impressive variety of classes for 20 years.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Alois Liebmann and Jhohanna (Radl) Liebmann; his wife, Dorothy "Mims" Liebmann; son, Tom Liebmann; and his daughter, Wendy Daley.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Terri) Liebmann and their five children, Mandy and her daughter, Vivienne Panella, Ginger, Rose, Brad E., and Brandon E. of Barneveld/Madison, Wis.; grandchildren, Dylan Jamieson (Caroline Sweeney) and their son, Oliver, and Spencer Jamieson all of Arlington, Va.; Anna (Ed) Zane and their children, Ella, Eddie, Tommy and Emma of Aspen, Colo.; and Mimi Liebmann of Denver, Colo.; and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
There will be a private ceremony with family at a later date.
John will be greatly missed by his family and those he touched throughout his life. On behalf of John, his family extends their sincere gratitude to Ingleside Nursing Home staff and Agrace HospiceCare for the care they provided for John.

I had the opportunity to get to know John and Dorothy during their visits to Austria and I am deeply saddened to hear of John's passing.
