Julie Ulrich Obituary

Julie Ulrich, a Baltimore, Maryland resident and formerly from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, died of an apparent suicide at 64. Julie was born December 15, 1958, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerry and Karen Ulrich. She graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1977 and attended UW-Madison for three years before relocating to Santa Cruz, California. There, she married Tom Bernbaum, also from Wisconsin. Julie owned and managed a massage therapy business and continued to do so after an amicable separation and eventual divorce. She continued to live and work in Santa Cruz, where she met William Eber. The two developed a strong connection, and Julie moved to Baltimore for the final years of her life. There, she retired and focussed those years on supporting others in need. Julie, known to countless friends as Jo, was, as one friend, memorialized "our Rock, our Baltimore Mom." William shared that "Jo was a brightly burning light of love." She is remembered similarly by her family and friends in Wisconsin. Julie is survived by her mother, Karen Ulrich, brother Tom (Karen) Ulrich, brother Mike (Jen) Ulrich, sister Theresa (Doug) Spenske, and nieces and nephews: Amanda Wilberg, Allycia Willger, Travis and Chad Ulrich, Justice, Nevyn and Kade Spenske and Sophia and Josie Ulrich.

Metro Crematory, Catonsville, Maryland, completed preparation for her repose. Her remains will be committed in her long-time home of California. There will not be a service in Wisconsin.
