Kittleson, Richard Allen
BELLEVILLE - Richard Allen Kittleson, age 80, of Belleville, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, surrounded by family and wonderful caregivers at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Nov. 15, 1940, to his parents, Stanley and Luella (Valstad) Kittleson. Richard grew up on a farm outside New Glarus and graduated from New Glarus High School in 1958, and later completed his certifications through the UW Graduate School of Banking. He was united in marriage to Darlene Paulson on June 15, 1963, at the York Memorial Lutheran Church. Richard spent 35 years serving the bank customers in Belleville. He was dedicated to his community and served on the First United Church of Christ Council, New Glarus Home Board of Directors, and Sugar River Senior Center Board. Dick was proud to have assisted in bringing the UW-Health Clinic and Duluth Trading Co. to Belleville. He was also a member of the Belleville Community Club and the Edelweiss Chalet Country Club. Dick enjoyed many golf and ski trips across the country, and had coached little league. He was also an avid supporter and ticket holder for the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Richard and Darlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Lake Wisconsin. A perfect day always ended with watching the sunset over the lake.
Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene; son, Brian (Ayu) Kittleson; daughter, Brenda (Eric) Miller; and grandson, Jordan Kittleson. He is further survived by his brother, Duane (Nancy) Kittleson; sister-in-law, Diana Helmenstine; nephews, Jeffrey (Loni) Helmenstine and Dan (Janell) Kittleson; nieces, Dawn (Duane) Heitsman and Christine Kittleson; great-nieces, Danielle Heitsman, Lindsey Heitsman, and Daisy Kittleson; and great-nephews, Kyle and Tyler Helmenstine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gifford and Lena Paulson; and brother-in-law, Jim Helmenstine.
A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 15 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Laura Kolden officiating. Burial will be in the Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery, Daleyville, Wis.
A memorial fund has been established.
