Shirley A. Linnerud

STOUGHTON - Shirley A. Linnerud, age 92, of Stoughton, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024. She was born on April 1, 1931, in Stoughton, the daughter of Wilbur and Inez (Anderson) Swenson.
Shirley attended Pleasant Hill School from 1st through 8th grade and graduated from Stoughton High School. She was united in marriage to her farm sweetheart, Oscar Linnerud, on Oct. 7, 1950, at Central Lutheran Church in Stoughton.
Shirley spent her time raising her family and farming. She enjoyed being outside doing yardwork and shopping for antiques.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Oscar; children, Steve (Betty) Linnerud, Sheryl (Ray) Anderson and Shelley (Wendell) Meise; grandchildren, Shelby (Lewton) Peterson, Shannon Anderson, Segren (Shannon) Moham, Sarah (Ryan) Ulrich, Rachel Hansen-Miller, Kara Hansen-Wipperfurth, Sarah Leenman, Anna Rumrill and Chelsey Meise; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Swenson; and son-in-law, Kenneth W. Hansen.
A private family service was held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Shirley's name to American Legion Post No. 59 in Stoughton.
