ASHTON / CROSS PLAINS – Steven M. Meffert, age 82, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Milestone Senior Living in Cross Plains. He was born on September 3, 1942, the son of Ray and Florence (Wipperfurth) Meffert.
Steve worked at Bock Water Heating in Madison, but farming was his passion, spending many hours on the farm. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Ashton.
Steve is survived by his sister, Carol (Richard) Zwettler; nieces, Melissa (Michael) Ott and Lori (Jeff) Gruel; nephews, Brian (Jen) Zwettler, Brett Zwettler and Brad (Heather) Zwettler; special friend, Marilyn Ballweg; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Florence Meffert; and sister, Lois (Gerald) Schmitz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 7121 County Road K, Ashton, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, September 26, 2024, with Father Brian Dulli presiding. Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Ashton. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
The family would like to thank Milestone Living for their special care.
