Dennis Earl Gilbert
TWIN FALLS - It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, and father, Dennis Earl Gilbert, 73, resident of Twin Falls, Idaho. Dennis passed away peacefully, at home, on August 24, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Dennis has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Dennis was quick-witted and was a man who laughed heartily and easily. He always saw the best in everyone and encouraged his family to see the best in everyone, as well. He was a loving and gentle father and husband. He had many friends.
Dennis is preceded in death by parents, George Alvin Gilbert and Kathleen Durham Beigh Gilbert Wyatt, as well as brothers: Wesley Gilbert, Paul Gilbert, Charles "Chuck" Gilbert, daughter, Emilly Lynn Gilbert Seed, and grand-daughter, Addison Mae Seed.
Dennis leaves a surviving legacy through his beloved wife, Florence; and six surviving children: Adella (Michael) Sutton, Patrick (Fredonia) Gilbert, Mathew Flynn, Christopher Cody (Alicia) Flynn, Joshua (Brianna) Flynn and Dennis D.J. (Katelyn) Gilbert, Jr. Dennis has twenty-one grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Dennis has surviving siblings: Wayne (Peggy) Gilbert, Jodene Gilbert, Marti (Kevin) Cook, and Gina Gilbert.
Dennis loved golf almost as much as he loved his family. It's no secret that he was a better family man than a golfer, even his busted heart couldn't stop his desire to be on the green and lose a couple of expensive golf balls every week. He also enjoyed cold adult beverages, time with friends, bowling, and golf. Did we mention golf?! Dennis has a cart reserved in heaven for his best golfing buddy, Ramon Guzman, "But there's no hurry Ramon!"
Dennis loved supporting his kids, grandkids, and their friends in every sporting event, and hobby they had. Dennis loved camping, enjoying a Captain Morgan and Coke while spending time with the people that he loved.
Dennis did not want a stuffy, sad funeral, and so we will honor his final wish. The family will have a small Celebration of Life where we will share stories, laughter, and tears, just as Dennis wished.

Dennis remains one of my favorite people I had the great fortune to meet.
A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and kind to all, regardless of who.
He is already deeply missed.
He was a rock. A never-changing, always there, dependable source of wisdom and advice.
Never afraid to provide his concise opinion or tell you boldly when you were messing up.
His very existence in this world was a comfort that cannot, and should not, be replaced, and the world is less bright for his passing.
A precious load of memories and lasting impact on many lives that will endure for a very long time.
He is missed.

I'm sorry for your loss, Adella. He sounded like a great guy. I wish I could have played a round of golf with him. Maybe I will when I see him on the other side. Bless you and your family.
