Larine (Knopp) Heinze
Jan. 21, 1932 - March 1, 2024
BURLEY – Larine (Knopp) Heinze, a 92 year old, resident of Burley, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Pomerelle Place in Burley.
Larine was born January 21, 1932, in Burley, Idaho, one of five children born to Adolph and Amelia Molly (Weber) Knopp. She attended grade school at Springdale, a small country school not far from their home, and completed her education at Burley Junior High School and Burley Senior High School. She graduated from high school in 1950.
Ruben Heinze and Larine got engaged on Christmas Eve in 1950 and married on June 24, 1951, in Paul, Idaho.
Ruben and Larine were blessed with three children: Byron - September 1952, Janet - October 1955, and Kelly - February 1961.
Larine was raised on a farm and worked alongside her father, mother and siblings. She learned to work hard at an early age and had various jobs later in life. After high school she worked at Safeway in Burley. She continued to work there for a short time after she got married. She started working at Cassia National Bank in Burley in 1951 and worked there until 1980 when it became Bank of Idaho. After leaving the bank she worked at PCA, Amfac Electric, Gloria's House of Bloom, and D L Evans Bank.
Larine had a kind and gentle nature about her. She was very soft hearted and never spoke a harsh word about anyone. Two words that many people used to describe Larine were "so sweet." There was an inscription next to her senior picture in her high school yearbook that described her as "The Essence of Sweetness, The Model of Neatness." So true!
She was a member of the Ebenezer Congregational Church in Paul for many years and later joined Crossroads Bible Church in Burley. She made some wonderful friends at Crossroads and enjoyed the fellowship she shared with them over the years.
Larine was a breast cancer survivor. She got breast cancer in 1993 and lived with her daughter, Janet, and her family in Meridian while receiving radiation treatment. Much to everyone's surprise, she bravely drove her car to downtown Boise every week to receive treatment.
The family would like to thank the kind, caring, and compassionate staff at Pomerelle Place for the love and care given to her during her time with them. She made so many wonderful friends and was blessed to be surrounded by so many people that loved her. She treasured the time with her dear friend, Jane, and looked forward to her daily hugs from Lisa, two of her guardian angels.
Larine is survived by her daughter, Janet (Rich) Yerrington of Meridian; son, Kelly (Patty) Heinze of Raft River; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don (Thelma) Knopp; two sisters: Delores Carson and Shirley Harris; and a sister-in-law, Nelda Knopp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aldoph and Molly Knopp; her husband, Ruben Heinze; a son, Byron Heinze; one brother, Harry Knopp; and two brothers-in-law: Larry Carson and Clinton Harris.
The funeral was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where family and friends were received from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Officiating the service was the Rev.
