Margaret Cameron Obituary

Margaret Anne Cameron

Nov. 24, 1930 - April 1, 2024

RUPERT - Margaret Anne (Stark) Cameron, 93, passed away April 1, 2024, at home in Rupert, Idaho, surrounded by her loving daughters and caregivers.

Margaret was born to Carl Lewis Stark and Maria Mai Stark on Nov. 24, 1930, at the family home situated between Paul and Heyburn, Idaho. She was the seventh of nine children. Margaret grew up and attended school in Rupert, graduating in 1948.

Margaret met her future husband Robert "Bob" Cameron at Rupert High School. They were married on Aug 27, 1950.

To this union were born four daughters: Kathleen Anne (Marian Edwards), Margaret Rose (deceased), Patricia Sue (Joe Seamons), and Roberta (Kris Nord).

Margaret loved learning and dedicated her life to educating others, as well as herself and her own family.

Margaret started her secondary education at Albion Normal School and later ran a private kindergarten from her home. She finished her B.S. in Elementary Education at Idaho State University, graduating in 1971. She obtained her Master's degree in 1978. After receiving her Master's degree Margaret was a Team Leader for Teacher Corps, guiding the next generation of elementary teachers. This endeavor gave her a great deal of satisfaction.

Margaret taught first and third grade at Pershing Elementary in Rupert for eleven years before retiring. Throughout her life Margaret had a love for all children and concern for the betterment of their lives through education.

Margaret was a lifelong member of the Rupert United Methodist Church, serving as a Communion Steward. She belonged to the Deborah Circle there.

Margaret also enjoyed her membership in Kiwanis International and was a Charter member of Chapter BS of PEO International. Margaret enjoyed golf, camping with her young family at Redfish Lake, doing jigsaw, crossword and word search puzzles, painting and sketching, sewing formals for her daughters and especially traveling nationally and internationally with Bob, their friends, and family.

Margaret is survived by three of her daughters and their partners; her grandchildren: Sarah (Dugan McKinlay), Cameron, and Robert Seamons, Anders (Haley) and Isak Nord; step-great-grandchildren: Bladen, Riley and Kahlan McKinlay; and great- grandchildren: Marilyn and Wallace Nord; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ardith Stark, Margaret (Jim Suhr), Lynn Cameron (Susan); and cousin, Sharon Thomas. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews on the Stark and Cameron sides of the family whom she adored almost as her own.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, of 65 years, and their infant daughter, her parents, her siblings and their spouses: Carl (Vivian), Walter (Wyota), Evelyn (Earl Burns), Henry (Bertha), Louise (Frank Stewart), Melvin (Clayone), Marie (Chuck Brown) and Robert Stark; her parents-in-law, Clark and Alice Cameron, her brothers and sister-in-law: John (JoAnn) and Kent Cameron. She was also preceded in death by a number of beloved nieces and nephews on the Stark and Cameron sides of the family.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Margaret's 24-hour caregivers – Shauna, Stephanie, Selena, Armentha, Tara and Lexi for their tender ministrations to Mother. We give extra special thanks to our devoted caregiver and friend Vicki for her help to Mother and the entire family. Our extreme gratitude goes out to Dr. Nicole Shumway, her nurse Angela and the rest of her wonderfully compassionate staff, and Amy, her Hospice nurse. For her spiritual comfort and guidance, the family thanks Pastor Brenda Bettinger Sene.

Margaret will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, sweet soul. I'll never forget her beautiful smile and engaging personality. I even recall her sweet nature as my kindergarten teacher. All of my family has a special place in our hearts for the lovely, beautiful, gracious Margaret Cameron. A trip to Rupert over the Fourth of July will never be the same because it seemed like I always had the pleasure of running into Margaret. Heaven gained one special lady.
To all the family, I send my deepest condolences and pray that the great memories with your dear mother/grandmother/aunt will keep her spirit alive in your hearts. With love and hugs, Dawn (Ling) King
