Adv. Taylor Obituary

Mr. William Edward Taylor Jr., 80, of Youngstown Ohio transitioned from his earthly labor to eternal peace on Thursday August 7, 2025. Mr. William Taylor Jr. was born April 28, 1945 in Youngstown Ohio, a son of the late Mr. William E. Taylor Sr. and Mrs. Madeline Greene Taylor. During his teen years he loved to work on cars. His love of cars eventually brought him to know the love of his life, Lurline Williams. He was a graduate of Hubbard High School and following his graduation, he promised her that he would do something to change their lives. He joined the United States Airforce to work on jet engines during the height of the draft, as an Airforce Jet Technician. During his deployment, he fell deeper in love with his intended through their writing of love letters, which amplified his desire of making Ms. Williams his wife one day. During his 2-week furlough, he took his loves' hand in marriage, on May 22, 1966. After 4 years of service, including a deployment to Vietnam, he was honorably discharged, with medals. He was very proud of his Vietnam Veteran status. After leaving the military, Mr. William Taylor Jr. was employed by Delphi Packard Electric and became an electrical engineer and diligently worked for over 35 years. He was a member of The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob. His rank progressed from Brother, to Elder, to Presiding Elder and lastly to Advanced Presiding Elder, in the church he loved. As his rank grew his natural family grew as well, yielding 4 children. He was a member of the District Choir, The King's Sixteen, The 100 Voice National Choir, and a founding member of The Celestial Tones. He loved to sing, play bass guitar, lead guitar, drums and piano. He was truly gifted. His gifts also included carpentry, roofing, painting, plumbing, auto mechanics, and photography and he, also loved to travel. He was a vital part of the improvements and total renovations of many sanctuaries throughout the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob. He was also a blessing to his community; mowing the lawns of those in his neighborhood, vacant lots near the church property, in addition to the neighbors' yards that surrounded the church. He always took pride in his work and was very meticulous with all his crafts. He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy his devoted wife Mrs. Lurline Taylor, four children, Mr. Robert V. (Naomi) Taylor of Atlanta Georgia, Mrs. Sarah (Michael) Montgomery, Mrs. Mary (Eric) Parker both of Akron Ohio, and Mrs. Dianna (Ricky) Williams of Bedford Heights. 5 grandchildren Mr. Kenneth Taylor of Atlanta Georgia, Mr. Jordan (Lexi) Smith of Warren Ohio, Ms. Precious Taylor of Akron Ohio, Mr. Shiloh Williams Bedford Heights, and Mr. Eric Lance Parker Jr. of Akron Ohio, 13 bonus grandchildren, and 15 bonus great-grandchildren. 2 Sister-in-laws Mrs. Ella Ruth Taylor and Mrs. Darlene Taylor, and a host of family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mr. Zelek Taylor, Mr. Bani Taylor, Mrs. Mary Ann Poole, and Mrs. Meriam Edwards. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, 2931 Clingan Street, Youngstown, OH 44505.
