Darryl Richardson Obituary

Obituary For Darryl Lawrence Richardson With heavy hearts but celebrating a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Darryl Lawrence Richardson, who departed this world peacefully on December 2, 2024. Born on to the union of Joanne Mitchell Richardson & Laurence Richardson October 22, 1960, in Sharon, PA, Darryl was a son of the vibrant community, and to those who knew him, he was a bright light-a devoted father, brother, and friend. Darryl attended New Castle School of Trades. His passion for the printed word led him to a fulfilling career as a printer with the Washington Post Gazette, where his dedication and contributed to the storytelling that connects us all. He had an innate ability to find beauty in the written word and shared that appreciation with everyone around him. Darryl's journey brought him to Hubbard, OH, where he etched out a life filled with warmth and creativity. Strong willed, defined as stubborn by others, Darrly forge through life with determination, often allowing the resonance of his baritone voice to do the speaking or singing for him. A scholar of old school music, he loved to lip-synch to melodies that touched the soul. As an avid Pittsburg Steeler Nation citizen, he loved the bragging rights of six rings! Darryl also displayed compassion and generosity, often extending himself even in sickness. His kind heart was his trademark. A cherished son, father and brother, Darryl is lovingly remembered by His daughters, Shantel Townsend and Dominique Moore, both who will carry forward his legacy, as will his grandchildren, Brooklynn and Harlem, who were the light of his life. He was also blessed to be the godfather to Demetrius Darden. Darrly dearly loved his sisters-April Richardson, Cheryl Barrow, Melanie Richardson-Organ, and Michelle Richardson-who grew up alongside him, sharing laughter, dreams, and the unconditional bond of family, along with a large score of family and friends. He was escorted to the ancestral table by his parents and grandparents who preceded him into eternity. Join us as we honor Darryl Lawrence Richardson, a man who embraced life fully and whose memory will continue to inspire and uplift us all. As we reflect on Darryl's journey, we will gather to honor his remarkable spirit. The events will take place at Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Church Zion, 95 West Connelly Blvd, Sharon PA, on Monday December 9, 2024, with a noon day public viewing. There will be a Celebration of Life service which will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Marion Wheeler officiating. Darryl's life was a love song -a ballad of hope, resilience, and compassion. Though he has departed from this mortal life, his essence will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched. Let us gather in unity, sharing fond memories and uplifting stories, reminding one another that though he may be gone, his spirit remains alive in each of us.
