David Parsons Obituary

Dave Parsons, 79 Campbell Dave Parsons, the man, the myth, the legend, got his wings, and became whole and well, Monday night, July 17th, 2023, at 9:46 pm, with his wife Regina at his side, at Hospice House. Dave was born January 1, 1944, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Youngstown, OH, the fourth of eight children born to James A. and Bessie Jane (Airgood) Parsons. Dave's daughter asked him if he was the New Year's baby for that year, and he said some girl beat him out. Dave was raised in New Bedford, Pennsylvania, and lived in Campbell for over 45 years. Dave graduated from New Wilmington High School in 1961. He was a grocery manager by trade, starting in the late 1960's at Fisher Fazio in Struthers, then moving on to Brookfield Valu King and Campbell Super Duper. He retired from North Lima Giant Eagle in 2006. Dave was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell. Dave married the former Regina Tofil on July 31, 1971, and they would have celebrated 52 years of marriage at the end of July. Dave enjoyed watching Life Below Zero, Mountain Men, the Cleveland Browns, and especially the Cleveland Indians, now Guardians. He told us all when Jose Ramirez started that he would be a great player, and he was right! He also was an avid Penn State football fan. Dave had no filter, and we loved him for it. He was a true "gem". Dave leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Regina, two children, Jeannie (Cip) Ruiz of Youngstown and Dave Jr. of Campbell, as well as two granddaughters whom he adored, Catalina and Gabriella Ruiz. Two sisters, Mary Ellen Misik of Sharon, Pennsylvania, and Susan B. Parsons of Lordstown, and one brother, Joseph Parsons of New Bedford, Pennsylvania, a sister-in-law, Cindi Parsons of Youngstown; several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, a great-great-niece, his beloved dog and best friend, Charlie, and many friends that were like family. Besides Dave's parents, preceding him in death were his sisters Betsy Fields and Loretta Parsons, and his brothers, Thomas and James Parsons. When his daughter left his house to go home, she would always kiss him and tell him to "behave", due to his no filter. "Dad, you better be behaving up there! Save us spots and we will see you again! Love you!" A private memorial service was held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at St. John's Cemetery in Lowellville. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of David C.
