Denny was born June 7, 1942, in Youngstown; a son of Leslie and Leona Fignisky Magee. After graduating from Chaney High School, he joined the Navy and became a Corpsman/Medic while serving in Vietnam. He met his wife Liz when they were teenagers and they were married when he returned from Vietnam. Denny worked at General Motors for over 30 years in the materials department where he drove a forklift and managed inventory. He was also a proud UAW member and advocate.
Denny was a man of great faith. In the 1980's he started the youth ministry program when he was a member of St. Matthias Church in Youngstown. He was a dedicated member of the Cursillo movement. He and Liz later became members of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown where he served on parish council, was a Eucharistic minister and lector, and worked in the pieroghi program. Denny enjoyed making wine. One of his greatest joys was golfing and he excelled at the sport with a "2" handicap, and he worked on the grounds staff at Reserve Run for over two decades.
Denny leaves: his wife of 60 years, the former Elizabeth Marks whom he married November 27, 1965. He also leaves two daughters Laurie (Ed) Repko of Lewis Center, OH and Shannon Magee (Marc Lapointe) of Charleston, SC; his grandson Danny Repko of Columbus, OH; brother Patrick Scotella, sister Lisa Scotella, sister-in-law Arlene Magee, niece Tina Miller and nephew Jimmy Magee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Arthur Magee.
