Dolores traveled to Slovenia to buy her first button box and went on to play with the Mahoning Valley Button Box Group, the Summit Jammers, and Joe Godina's Sunday Afternoon Group at the Slovenian Home in Sharon, Pa.

Her pumpkin pies, potica and pizzelles were family favorites. In her younger days, she also decorated cakes professionally for Walter's Golden Crust Bakery. In addition, she had artistic ability in drawing, once creating an outdoor Nativity scene for her parents that won the best Christmas display in Youngstown two years in a row.
Dolores was a proud breast cancer survivor, and she lived her life with strength, faith and determination. Her resilience inspired her family and friends.
