Doris Reighert Obituary

Doris M. Reighert, 71, of New Castle, passed away Thursday evening, September 5, 2024, at her home. Ms. Reighert was born January 25, 1953, in Evans City, PA, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Cook) Buerkle and graduated from Seneca Valley High School. Doris had a deep faith in God and was a member of Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle. She attended mass at the St. Mary's Site where she formerly taught CCD classes. Most recently, she was a cook at Parkstown Restaurant and Lounge. An avid Steeler fan, Doris looked forward to being able to watch her favorite NFL team every Sunday. Above all, she was a very loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities. Doris is survived by three sons, Allan Reighert, Matt Reighert (Cassie), and John Reighert, all of New Castle; a daughter, Tiffany Helmuth, New Castle; a brother, John Buerkle (Lorraine), Conway, PA; a sister, Edna Broad, Slippery Rock; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, two brothers, a sister, and one granddaughter. In keeping with Doris' wishes, there will be no services.
