Elizabeth Beatty Obituary

Elizabeth S. Beatty, 69, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 1, 2024, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center.

Born in Youngstown, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Robert and Rose (Smith) Cox. She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1973 and worked in the Deli Department of Rulli Brothers. Elizabeth had a passion for baking and was known for her delicious desserts, which she loved to share with family and friends. Above all, Elizabeth cherished her family, particularly her time spent with her grandchildren. Her most cherished title was that of "Crazy Nana" as she was lovingly known by her 11 grandchildren. She was the type of Nana that didn't just watch her grandkids play but was right in the mix of every game of hide-n-seek, Marco Polo adventure and she always joined in the fun at the park. She loved movie night slumber parties where each grandkid had their own special seat and favorite treat. She was never too busy for her three daughters or any of her grandkids.

Elizabeth was married to her husband, David Beatty, from April 17, 2000, until his passing on August 27, 2019. She is survived by three daughters: Jackie (Ryan) Grissett of North Carolina, Randee (Steve) Graham of Boardman, and Brooke (CJ) Brink of Salem; as well as 11 grandchildren: Elise, Ethan, and Adlee Grissett; Vanessa, Jasmine, Rocky, Jackson, and Dean Graham; and Caden, Tyler, and Landon Brink. She also leaves behind a sister, Roey Shessler, of Waterford, MI and a brother, Robert Cox, of Austintown.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
