Elizabeth Turner Obituary

Obituary For Elizabeth Turner It is with heavy hearts and gratitude for a life well-lived & loved that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Turner, who left us peacefully on December 22, 2024. Elizabeth was born to the union of Everline Clark-Knight and Peter knight on June 28, 1945, in Monroeville, AL. Elizabeth attended Wainwright High School and ultimately made her home in Youngstown, OH, where she touched the lives of many through her kindness, dedication, and vibrant spirit. Elizabeth met and married the love of her life Marvin Russell Turner and was united in holy matrimony until parted in his death. From this union, they produced one child, their beloved son William. Elizabeth dedicated over forty years of her life to caring for others as a nursing assistant at Caprice Nursing Home in North Lima. Her calling to nurture was as evident in her profession as it was in her personal life-whether it was through her warm smile or her unparalleled ability to create a welcoming home filled with love. Her culinary and confectionary talents were legendary, with a "secret" ingredient that transcended any recipe-love. Each dish she created was a feast not just for the stomach but for the soul, leaving lasting savoring memories for all who gathered around her table. Elizabeth's zest for life was also reflected in her commitment to beautifying her home with outdoor projects, where her meticulous care for her lawn and garden blossomed like the vibrant flowers she nurtured at her former Franklin Avenue residence. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she passionately cheered for her team, it was difficult to curb her infectious enthusiasm which brightens every game day with her. Elizabeth found joy and satisfaction in her role as a grandmother, her heart swelled with pride for her "grand-divas" Kyiel Turner, Madisyn Turner, and Morgan Bailey with just the mere mention of their names. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, filled with laughter, storytelling, and an unbreakable bond of love. Now gone, but never forgotten, Elizabeth's memory and legacy will be sustained by her son William, daughter-in-love Felicia and her three grand-divas Kyiel, Madisyn and Morgan. Fondest memories will be retained and embraced by her siblings Ida Sigler, Harry Knight (her twin) and Florestine Penn, along with a score of friends and family who will carry her spirit in their hearts. Now seated regally among the ancestors, as Elizabeth crossed into eternity she was welcomed by her parents, husband, siblings Esther Dubose, Peter Knight III, Christine Spencer, Argin Knight, Irene Tunstall and special friend & companion, Olonzie "Bill" Williams. As we gather to share memories and reflect on the beautiful impact Elizabeth had on our lives, let us remember her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering love. In celebrating Elizabeth's life, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit continues to thrive in the hearts of all who loved her. The Turner Family invites the community to share in the recognition of this treasured gem on Saturday January 4, 2025, with a public viewing in the chapel of the J. E. Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave, in Youngstown at 10:00 AM. The grand Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lewis Macklin presiding as the celebrant. At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the beloved family of Elizabeth Turner elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E.
