New Springfield - Erenio Nerone, 77, passed away peacefully at his home on November 8, 2024.
He was born in Pietrabbondante, Isernia, Italy, and worked on his parent's land before serving in the Italian military. Erenio later immigrated to the United States, where he worked at several locations, Calex Corporation Aluminum Mill in Campbell, Ohio, and Oxford Automotive. He was a proud member of the United Steel Workers of America.
Erenio was well-known for his homemade wine, which won several awards. He took great joy in fishing, hunting, and tending to his big, beautiful garden. He worked tirelessly for his family and was known for his strong will, discipline, and fairness. Erenio was a loving grandfather who cherished making his grandchildren laugh and passed his strong values on to them.
He is survived by his children, Pasqualino (Kellie) Nerone, Lucia Nerone, Maurizio Nerone, and Donato (Rebecca) Nerone; and his grandchildren, Adrianna Miller, Lindsay Miller, George Erenio Nerone, Ella Nerone, Donatello Nerone, Lorenzo Nerone, Lilliana Nerone, and Noah Chapman. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria (Giovanni) DI Iorio and Antonietta (John) LaRocca; as well as his nieces and nephews, Ersilia Dl Iorio, Dino Dl Iorio, John LaRocca, Frank LaRocca, and Pasquale LaRocca.
Erenio was preceded in death by his father, Pasqualino Nerone, and his mother, Lucia Carile Nerone.
A memorial service will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, located at 270 North Main Street, Poland, OH 44514, on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Calling hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the memorial service starts at 2:00 p.m.
