Lowellville - Unexpectedly, on Thursday, July 18, 2024, 18-year-old Gavin James Catheline, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away in his hometown at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
Gavin was born in Youngstown on October 15, 2005, to devoted parents, James Catheline and Carrie Richardson.
Gavin was a beautiful soul, full of so much life and endless potential. He had just graduated in the 2024 class of Valley Virtual Academy. Growing up, Gavin thrived in his love of sports, especially baseball, football, and soccer. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his brother, Aiden, who was his best friend. You could often find Gavin anywhere outdoors with a friend whether it was hunting, fishing, or camping. During family dinners with his father, brother, and sister, Gavin enjoyed grilling and baking brownies. Above all, Gavin loved teaching his younger twin brothers, Jacob and Joseph, about his passions of sports and fishing. Gavin's adventurous spirit, infectious smile, and undeniable sense of humor touched everyone he met. It was a true honor to have been loved by Gavin's kind heart.
In addition to his parents, Gavin is survived and deeply missed by his loving siblings, Bella Catheline, Aiden Catheline, Jacob Salman, and Joseph Salman; grandparents, James and Carla Catheline, John and Joyce Richardson; and a supportive family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Gavin was preceded in death by his warmhearted grandmother, Jennifer McKay.
Gavin's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Allow Gavin to be an inspiration for his strength, and youthful exuberance for life. Let him serve as an example to live every day to the fullest.
