Lorraine Mace Obituary

Lorraine Ann "Peach" Custer Mace passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Warren, Ohio. Born on July 21, 1941, she was the daughter of William T. Custer and Elizabeth Kinel Custer. Her life was marked by unwavering dedication and love to family and many devoted friends. After graduating from Braceville High School in 1959, she worked briefly at Packard Electric in Warren where she met the love of her life, Jerry Mace. The pair were married in Winchester, Virginia on January 3, 1961. They eventually moved to Southington, Ohio where she lived for the next 57 years. There, Lorraine and Jerry raised two sons, Gerald "Jay" (Debi) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Michael D. (Renee) of Champion Ohio. She devoted her life to making a loving home for her family and was especially devoted to an array of dogs over the years ranging from Beagles to Brittanie's to Labs. She was a voracious reader and loved art and music. She had a curiosity for the natural world that she instilled in her sons who have carried on this legacy to their own families. Lorraine is survived by her sons; seven grandchildren, William D. (Ashley) of Riverton, Utah, Dezaray and Christopher of Champion, Ohio, Jeremy of Decatur, Georgia, Tori of Jupiter, Florida, Angela of Columbus, Ohio and Jason of Howland, Ohio, three great grandchildren, Kadence (10) and Elliott (7) of Riverton, Utah and Hayden (1) of Champion, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant sister, Elizabeth; a brother, Raymond George Custer, who passed away on May 28, 2025; and two grandchildren. According to her express wishes, no visitation or public services will be held. Also, in accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be spread in the Teton Mountain Range, a place of beauty she cherished. As a skin and tissue donor, her legacy of devotion to others will continue past her life as her donations are expected to help many.
