Mary Woofter Obituary

Mary Virginia Woofter, 81, of Youngstown, formerly of Hartford, passed away Monday morning, November 4, 2024, at her residence. She was born August 21, 1943 in Vernon, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Johnson Hunkus. She was a Badger High School graduate. She and her husband owned "Rob-Da-Ran" dairy farm in Hartford. She had also worked as a physical therapist and a secretary. She belonged to the Hartford Methodist Church and the Hartford Vol. Fire Department. Mary married David C. Woofter on February 15, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2012. She is survived by a daughter, Tina Woofter of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Tianna, Joey and Cassidy Woofter; two sisters, Margie Deucaster of Vernon and Judy Gonce of Hubbard; and two brothers, Jerry Hunkus of Mecca and Kenny Hunkus of Kinsman. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy; two brothers, Frank and Eugene; and a sister, Francie. She and her daughter had a saying that they often told each other, "I'd pick you again in every lifetime". A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
