Michael Toth Obituary
Michael Toth age 75 of Garrettsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 5th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He fought with resilience and determination until the very end, just as he approached life-strong and determined. Born and raised in Newbury, Ohio, Mike graduated from Newbury High School in 1967. Soon after, he took on the role of head mechanic at a large trucking company, a job he was immensely proud of. Later in life, he shifted gears, working on construction projects with Dick Blair Construction, operating dozers and backhoes to carve out basements and ponds with the precision only Mike could bring. Retirement for Mike wasn't about slowing down; instead, it meant staying busy mowing lawns for others, making sure everything was just right-because, if you knew Mike, you knew he never did anything halfway.
In his semi-retirement, Mike found great joy in restoring vintage cars, transforming them from rusted relics to sparkling beauties. His favorite projects were a 1938 Chevy Pickup, a 1938 Chevy Sedan, and his beloved 1956 Chevy-the same one he owned at 17 and rediscovered later in life. His garage was his kingdom, spotless and orderly, a testament to his meticulous nature. He could fix just about anything, from home improvement projects to the finest details of a classic car. His vintage masterpieces earned him countless trophies at car shows, but he'd tell you the real joy was in the journey of each rebuild. Mike loved to travel, especially to his second home in Arizona, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren, watching them grow, and celebrating their many accomplishments. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lillie; sons, Jeffrey and Alan; stepdaughters, Linda, Suzi, Lillian, and Lisa; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. His presence will be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Rest easy, Mike-may your garage in heaven be just as clean, your lawn as perfectly trimmed, and your cars always shining under the sun.
Mike's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of his life will be at the Parkman Community House 16295 Main Market Road West Farmington, OH 44491 on Saturday Oct 12, 2024 from 12:00- 3:00pm.
