Nicholas Popovich Obituary

Nicholas "Nick" Popovich, 88, of Orangeville, Oh, passed away Friday evening, October 25, 2024 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born December 16, 1935 in Sharon, the son of Nicholas Popovich Sr. and Margaret Zec Popovich. He was a press operator at GATX in Sharon for 25 years, then at Target Stamped Products in Kinsman for 12 years. After retirement, he still worked for Boyd's Kinsman Home as a driver. Nick liked to travel with his family, to follow the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and to build things. He is survived by his wife, Lee B. Williams Popovich, whom he married February 9, 1957; two daughters, Sheryl (Donald) Belanger and Brenda (James) Stemock, both of Orangeville, OH; a son, Nick T. (Dionne) of Cortland; eight grandchildren, Noelle, Ashlee, Gabrielle, Erich, Bryson, Nicholas, Alexa and Aidan; and seven great-grandchildren, Killian, Kingsley, Lucy, Sullivan, Langston, Calvin and William. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lou Popovich. Private services will be held for Nick with burial at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be sent to Dr. Lob Memorial Fund, 1211 Wilmington Ave., New Castle, PA 16105 in Nick's name.
