Richard Heck Obituary

Richard Lee Heck, 94, of Southington, OH passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at his residence. He was born December 9, 1929, in Grafton, WV, the son of the late Stella Virginia Janes Heck. In West Virginia, he worked in construction, taxi driver, and was a successful pool shark to purchase food for his family. Richard was very active in Delightful E.C. Church in Southington, Ohio. He was President of Official Board for 30 years, and trustee for 45 years. Richard enjoyed NASCAR and Steelers football. He helped many people with maintenance of their houses, always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed traveling with his daughter when she was on deputation from foreign missions. Richard liked camping and worked with Maryland State Park for 10 years at Chinocoteague. He traveled the USA and visited all the foreign countries his daughter served in. A highlight of his life was being with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Jane Heck of Southington, OH; son, Jerry Lee (Deborah) Heck of Bristolville, OH; granddaughter, Amber Dawn Heck McRoberts of Champion, OH; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Jayne (Chandler) Cremeans and Angela Lee McRoberts of Champion, OH. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Christina Burroughs Heck; and grandson, Jesse Lee Heck. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sager Memorial Park, Bristolville, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
