Richard Leonard Obituary

Richard Gerald Leonard, 89, of Warren, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 28, 2024. He was born April 4, 1935 in Nanty-Glo, PA, a son of the late Edward F. and the late Mary (Park) Leonard. On July 1, 1960 he married the love of his life, the former Joan Walk, and together they have shared 64 years of marriage. Richard retired from General Motors. He was a life long member of the Loyal Order of Moose Club. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and following the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most importantly, he loved his wife and family, those girls meant the most to him. Richard is survived by his wife, Joan Leonard of Warren; daughters, Maribeth Leonard of Howland, Sue (Bill Pfeiffer) Leonard of New Albany, OH and Janet (Christian) Parrish of Green, OH; sister, Joan Anderson; brother, Thomas (Cecilia) Leonard; granddaughters, Ashley, Alaina, Lauren, Kristen and Julia; and great-granddaughter, Capri. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Bush and June Zike; and brothers, Edward Leonard and William Leonard. A private service will be held at a later date. Carl W. Hall Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation services.
