Robert Beckwith Obituary

Robert W. Beckwith, 97, of Rome died December 23, 2023. He was born March 1, 1926 the son of George Albert and Alice Collett Beckwith. He was educated in Nelson, NY and served in the Navy from 1944-1946. On March 19, 1949 in married Evelyn Ralph. She died February 10, 2004. He worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church, Rome. He is survived by a daughter Carolyn Dee (Skippy) Beckwith and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by two sisters, Mable Beckwith and Ruth Schwab and two brothers, Donald and Charles. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grand in Rome for their extraordinary care. He truly felt at home and loved. Graveside services with military honors will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome.
