Sharon Mulichak Obituary
Sharon Ann Mulichak, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 30, 1953, in Youngstown, Ohio, Sharon was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Bobko) Brill. She was a 1971 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from Youngstown State University School of Nursing.
Sharon dedicated her life to caring for others. She began her nursing career at Woodside Receiving Hospital in Youngstown and, in 1980, joined the Youth Services Department at Northside Medical Center. She later worked in the Adult Behavioral Health Department from 2008 to 2012, and then in the Employee Health Care Department until her retirement in 2018, when the hospital closed. She was a proud and active member of the Ohio Nurses Association.
A lifelong member of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church, Sharon served faithfully and was a past secretary of the Byzantine Social Club. Her faith, compassion, and dedication to her community defined her life.
Above all, Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, whether traveling to Las Vegas, enjoying annual girls' trips to Florida, or taking adventures with her son. A passionate Cleveland Indians (Guardians) fan, Sharon never missed an Opening Day game since childhood and loved collecting team memorabilia.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Eugene Mulichak, whom she married on August 17, 1974; her son, Matthew M. (parnter, Valerie) Mulichak of Cleveland; her brother, Michael F. (Sharon) Brill of Struthers; her sister, Renee M. Weimer (Michael Klacik) of Youngstown; her Godsons, Doug (Mara) Duncan and Danny (Jessica) Duncan, both of Youngstown; two great-nieces, Maria Grace Duncan and Harper Jae Duncan; a special cousin, Patricia Farley of Milford, CT; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two very special girls, Madelyn and Dalaney Klacik, whom Sharon cared for as her own granddaughters.
Family and friends may call on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church, 7754 South Avenue in Boardman. A Funeral Divine Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Michael Farynets. Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
To honor Sharon's love for her favorite team, the family kindly requests that attendees wear Cleveland Indians/Guardians sports attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church Maintenance Fund, 7754 South Avenue, Boardman, OH 44512.
In a final act of generosity, Sharon chose to be an organ donor-giving the invaluable gift of sight to someone in need.
Arrangements are being handled by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street in Poland.
