Jack Russell Bloomquist

Jack Russell Bloomquist, 90, of Jacksonville, Ore., passed away Nov. 21, 2009. Jack was born Oct. 3, 1919, in San Francisco, Calif., the son of Benjamin Bloomquist & Kittie Bashor Bloomquist. The family moved to Los Angeles, shortly after his birth and he called So. Calif. his home for most of his life. Jack enlisted in the Navy and served from 1940-1946. He married Mildred Blair in 1946, and joined his father's painting company after the war and ran the business for 40 years. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a respected businessman. He enjoyed life to the fullest, especially travel, sailing reading, music, dancing and photography. He is survived by his three children, Ellen Bloomquist, of Bellevue, Wash., Kathryn Grobey (husband John), of Jacksonville, Ore. and Paul Bloomquist (wife Marie), of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Mildred, in 1978. Jack will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. A memorial celebration of his life will be held in So. Calif. next year.
