On the morning of March 23, 2022, Mike Bortko of Gold Hill OR, passed at the age of 56. Mike had many passions in life, including his love for fishing, hunting, cooking, wine making, rafting, gardening, bird watching, music, football, NASCAR, Harleys and above all else, caring for his numerous pets. Mike had a quick wit and active imagination and was known for his playful sense of humor and gritty determination. His love for the river and ocean were only surpassed by his love for his dogs and cats. Mike is survived by his partner, Deanna, his four siblings, Elizabeth, Frank, Marianne, and Madeline, his son, Leonard, his two stepdaughters, Erica and Trisha, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lastly, Mike is survived by his faithful dog, Hank and two very sweet kittens, Mario and Pineapple.

I went to OIT with Mike for 4 years. We had a lot of fun in Diesel labs. Mike was always happy go lucky and quick with his wit and smile.
