Albert Bilodeau Obituary
He was born in Augusta on June 13, 1917, the son of Hubert and Rose (Duclos) Bilodeau.
Mr. Bilodeau was employed at Bates Manufacturing Co., Edwards Division, in Augusta, for many years. He later established his own business, Bilodeau Motors, in 1942, and worked there for many years. During his retirement, he spent winters in Fort Myers, Fla.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a life member of Le Club Calumet.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Merilda (Quirion) Bilodeau.
Mr. Bilodeau is also survived by three daughters, Therese Beaulieu, Louise Pelletier and her husband, Patrick, of Augusta, and Jeannine Nash of Charleston, S.C.; four sons, Norman Bilodeau of Londonderry, N.H., Roland Bilodeau and his wife, Marie, of Fort Myers, Paul Bilodeau and his wife, Judy, of Winthrop, and Richard Bilodeau and his wife, Brenda, of Augusta.
He is also survived by one sister, Pauline Schmidt, of Yakima, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Yvonne Charest, Fernande Bilodeau and Rita Gagnon; and two brothers, Raymond and Victor Bilodeau.
In honor of his wishes, there will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.

WOW! I can't believe its been 7 years already today that Dad past away.I think about him often and remember all the times we spent together chassing car auctions. I still remember his frequent visit to my office in Ft.Myers with his white Buick,he made a point to speak with all of our customers. He was one of a kind and I learned alot from him. Hi Pa - it's been 4 years since we said goodbye to you. Seems so hard to believe sometimes. I think of you often. On my way home from work the other day there was a beautiful sunset shining on the river as I was crossing the bridge. I immediately thought how you would enjoy seeing it. I went out to get the paper this morning and a pretty cardinal greeted me with a lovely song. When things like this happen it reminds me that you are always with me. I love you, Pa!

As you know by now, Mom left us yesterday. We all had a chance to say our goodbyes to our wonderful mother who loved us so much. It was 11:20. I guess she wanted to be with you for 12:00 as know her clock was always set 20 minutes ahead. We will miss you both very much, but it is great to know that now you will spend eternity together. Pa - Yesterday was a beautiful "springlike" day - perfect weather to take a walk around my neighborhood after work. As I was walking, I suddenly felt the need to stop and look at the time. Just as I looked at my phone, the time changed to 6:59. That was the exact time we lost you. At that very moment, I felt this warmth come over me. I took that as a sign that you were with me at that very moment. You will live forever in my heart! I think of you often and miss you so much! I love you Pa!???

Correction and apologies on my previous post...I actually got to talk to Mr. Bilodeau last summer while visiting my grandfather, Harry Fotakis, in the Maine State Veterans Home. My grandfather passed this past January. I am sure they both are talking about old times in heaven. May God comfort the Bilodeau family during this difficult time.

I want to thank you all for sharing Mr. Bilodeau with me. I was fortunate to spend many summers at my grandparent's, the Choate's. I made an incredible friend who was my first boss. He paid me to mow and to trim the road and to pull the weeds over at Paul's. He even let me drive that beautiful old brown dodge pickup truck all over the camproads. Amazing times fishing and boating and cooking white perch on the grill with coffee cakes and butter. Thanks for the great memories. I am so glad I walked over to see him this summer. It was amazing to have my grandfather, Herb Thulen, Albert, and Harry Fotakis sitting at the same table all talking about the good old days. My thoughts are with the family, and thanks for the great times, Albert. REST IN PEACE!
