Brian Rideout Obituary

RICHMOND -- Brian J. "Bub" Rideout, 27, of the Marston Road passed away unexpectedly due to a motorcycle accident Friday, June 22, in Gardiner. He was born in Augusta on May 26, 1980, the son of Emil C. and Judith Harriman Rideout.

He was a loving father, son and brother and loved to spend time with his two children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and auto-racing. He was a master of all trades and an excellent creative backyard engineer. He never gave up, if it was a possibility of making it go, even if it meant hooking wheels up to a snowmobile. He loved to laugh and have fun with family and friends and was both a jokester and an adventurer. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes that made you laugh and left you guessing what he was going to do next. He loved to meet new people. He always met people with open arms, and everyone he met became Brian's friend. Brian lived a simple life, living each day as if it was his last. And that is what Brian was doing "Living his life to the fullest right up to the very last moment."

He was predeceased by his parents Emil C. and Judith Harriman Rideout; a niece, Melissa Kalloch; a great-nephew, Tucker Spencer; and a favorite uncle, Butt. He is survived by his two children, Kendra and Gavin Rideout of Wales; his brothers and sisters, Debra Gould and husband, Dennis, of Whitefield, Bonnie Miete and husband, David, of Wiscasset, Emil C. Rideout Jr. and wife, Ardell, of Whitefield, Tammy Barto and fiancée, Eddie, of Augusta, Richard Kalloch and wife, Carol, of West Gardiner, Vicky Foss and fiancée. Duane, of West Gardiner, Emily Vigue and husband. Fred, of Richmond, Kim Eaton and husband, Keith, of Gardiner, Corina Perry and husband, Gary, of Richmond; his favorite uncles Chummy and Danny; a special friend Gordon Tibbetts; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, June 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Libby Hill Cemetery beside his parents. A gathering will be held at the Gardiner Elks Lodge (upstairs), Route 126 following the committal.

Brian,
I have thought about you everyday since I heard about your accident and I have thought about things that I hadn't thought of in years. I have SO MANY memories of you and I just can't believe you are gone...there are things I want to say to you but I guess I will have to wait until we meet again in Heaven. There is a part of my heart that you took a long time ago and you still hold that spot. I will always love you and remember the good times we had.
