1963 - 2016
SKOWHEGAN - Charles A. Robbins Jr. "Chuck", 52, of Skowhegan went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2016, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Chuck was a local businessman who was known and loved by many in the Skowhegan Community.
He was born April 5, 1963, the son of Charles Sr. "Charlie" and Phyllis. He graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1981. Chuck has always been in the Skowhegan Community, eventually taking over the family business Charlie & Son in the late 80's.
Buying and selling is what Chuck knew, mainly cars but he would take a chance on anything he thought he could make a buck with. He loved going to auctions, especially the ones where his son Charles was the Auctioneer.
Chuck was always just a phone call away if you needed help, it didn't matter what time of day or night it was, he would be there. Chuck was a family man, working hard seven days a week to provide for his children growing up. He loved spending days with his grandson, Brody, watching him grow up so fast.
Chuck loved the community; whenever a local organization needed help he would be there to assist. Chuck was a member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges in Skowhegan. He loved riding his motorcycle, ATV, and camping with family and friends.
Chuck loved to play poker; he was given the nickname "Longshot" because no one ever knew what he would have in his hand and often the longer the odds the more intrigued he was to play them. Life was all about having a good time to Chuck and he knew how to have a good time. "Don't count the days, make the days count" has been his motto throughout this journey.
Chuck is survived by his wife Traci Robbins; mother Phyllis (York) Robbins, mother in-law Diane White; brother Jeff Robbins and his wife Barbara and their daughter Haley Weeks, sister Carita Ballou, son Charles III and his wife Delila and their son Brody, daughter Jennifer Grenier and husband Matthew and their daughter Charlee and also a special "son" Ken Ashe and his wife Erika and their daughter Brooke; the mother of his children Tammy Robbins; and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Charles A Robbins Sr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dohner and the rest of the staff at MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, and a special thanks to Rev. Mark Tanner.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Skowhegan Federated Church, Island Ave., Skowhegan, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. A celebration of life will follow the funeral at T & B's Outback Tavern, Madison Ave., Skowhegan, for a time of storytelling, music and memories. Casual attire welcomed.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan.

Traci, Charles, Jenny, Jeff and families, So very sorry for your loss! He put up a brave fight and brought a lot of awareness to Pancreatic Cancer. He was taken too young but is no longer suffering.
