He was born Feb. 9, 1931, the son of Wilfred and Malvina (Bourgoin) Rodrigue.
He graduated from Waterville High School in 1949.
Donald married Virginia Maheu on Sept. 4, 1950. They were co-owners of Don's Variety on Water Street in Waterville. He was employed by the Waterville School Department for 22 years and drove school buses for the Winslow School Department for 32 years.
Donald was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.
He was predeceased by his parents; and by his brothers, Robert and Norman.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Virginia (Maheu) Rodrigue; daughter Peg Pellerin and husband Mike; son Tim Rodrigue and wife Anne; grandchildren, Erika Pellerin, Lori Pellerin and fiancŽ Dana Card, Jason Rodrigue and Nicole Rodrigue; step-grandchildren Emily Frantz and Jeremy Frantz; brothers Raymond Rodrigue of Fairfield and Roland Rodrigue and wife Becky of Oakland; and sister-in-law Annie Rodrigue of Durham.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald E. Rodrigue's memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, c/o Corpus Christi Parish, 70 Pleasant St., Waterville, ME 04901.
Arrangements are with the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.
