Eugene has passed nearly two years ago and I wish that I had talked with him more. He was a very good man. I pray for Eugene and I know that he is in a very good place, but I miss him.

Desiree: I wanted to share a poem with you about Dads as I am sure he was lots of these things to you and more. Dads: Mender of toys. Leader of boys. Changer of fuses. Kisser of bruises. Mover of couches. Soother of ouches. Pounder of nails. Teller of tales. Hanger of screens. Counselor of teens. Fixer of bikes. Chastizer of tykes. Raker of leaves. Cleaner of eaves. Dryer of dishes. Fulfiller of wishes.

My deepest sympathy.

All of us here at Saint Anselm College were saddened to hear of Eugene's sudden passing. Eugene and his family are in our prayers at the monastery and his name will be read at the monastic community's Mass each day this week. As a classmate of his and a fellow Mainer, I will offer a special Mass for him.

Though we mourn this loss let's all be thankful for the time Gene was here and the influence he had on each of us and freindship we were able to share with him. Desi, if you need anything you have my number.

To all of Gene's family....our deepest sympathies....sorry we could not attend the meal @ Hafford's today to speak with more of you. What a wonderful eulogy!! You will all want to keep a copy of it because it was one of the most touching, lovely eulogies I have heard and believe me know. We have unfortunately had to attend several funerals for loved ones in the last couple years. As was said, this IS a bump in the road and now you need to move on with your lives because there is still so much love and family out there that needs you and so many more memories to be created. Our love and prayers are with you all....we will miss Gene....call on us whenever you need to....Love Steve & Judy LIzzotte

Desiree, your Dad and I were good pals years ago when we were starting our careers and had become new dads. Gene was always fun to be with, full of laughter and good cheer and you were his special pride and joy. So I hope that as the days go by your thoughts will dwell on good memories and your life will fill with good cheer inherited from your Dad. He would like that.

Desi and Corinne, I don't have the words to say that can make this all go away. But I can say that I will always be there for you guys for anything that you need. My best piece of advice would be to remember all of the good qualities that Gene possessed and apply them to your own lives. May God be with your family during this tragic time.

I clearly remember Gene when we grew up in the South End of Waterville in the 1950's and 1960's. Gene was a very nice young man with a kind heart. He came from a very good family and reading the other condolences about Gene does not surprise me. May God give you courage and strength during this very difficult time,

I met Gene almost twenty years ago, we worked together in the traffic department at Huhtamaki. He was extremely knowledgable and always quick with a smile or a joke. He was a very honorable man and I enjoyed working with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Gene and I worked together for nearly 20 years. During that time he was a mentor and teacher, a leader and entertainer. He was reliable, creative and very hard working. As much as he loved to work, he loved his family most of all. He was so proud when first grandchild was born, I never saw a smile so big! I wish his family peace as they work through this loss. Gene was a great man and I will miss him so much. Desiree, know that your dad loved you with his whole heart.

Be at peace Gino
