Jennifer Fowler Obituary

Jennifer C. Fowler (Eby)
1962 - 2015
WINSLOW - On Feb. 10, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer, Jennifer C. Fowler went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jenn was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on Nov. 14, 1962, and graduated from Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pa., in 1980. In 1984, she graduated from Miami University of Ohio with her Science Degree, Magna Cum Laude. She continued her post graduate studies at Miami University graduating in 1986, with her Masters of Science Degree in Zoology.
Jennifer began her teaching career at Pineview Christian School in upstate New York, where she and her husband Jeff taught for two years. She and Jeff taught for their third year at nearby Schenectady Christian School in New York before moving to Maine in the fall of 1989. In spring 1990, she taught science at a small public school in Sedgewick. For the next 22 years, from 1991-2012, she taught public high school science at CONY High School in Augusta. She built strong relationships with students and colleagues as she taught biology, physics and chemistry.
Jennifer loved life and was passionate about her family, her Lord Jesus Christ and the amazing things He created. She took great delight in supporting her children in their sports endeavors and spent countless hours filming and editing high school game highlights for their teams, which she then posted on social media.
As a member of the Kennebec Valley Baptist church, she was a dedicated Christian, who demonstrated her faith in all areas of her life, never compromising her beliefs, values or morals. Her greatest expressions of faith came through her love of contemporary Christian music. She played music wherever she was and delighted in singing with others in church.
Because of her love of science and nature, Jenn could often be found walking nature trails for hours, on sunny days. During these nature walks she not only captured numerous beautiful photos of God's creatures and creations, but she would pick up every snake she could find which provided great delight for her "friends" on Facebook.
Jenn is survived by her parents, John and Judy Eby of Florida; her husband of 28 years, Jeff Fowler of Winslow, (originally of New Brunswick, Canada); her three children, Melinda Diane, Sarah Danielle, and James Jeffrey Floyd, grade 11. She is also survived by her two siblings, John Eby III (spouse Sandy) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Susannah Files (spouse Chris) of Little Rock, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews in both the U.S. and Canada.
Visiting hours will be today, Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the Kennebec Valley Baptist Church (KVBC). Her memorial service (funeral) is to be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at 11 a.m. at KVBC, 91 Marston Road, Waterville. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Rd., Skowhegan

Jennifer made an immediate impression on me from the moment I met her while visiting KVBC. In fact, each time we came to town to visit, I looked forward to seeing Jennifer. I was especially moved by her beautiful voice when she sang during one of our visits. I remember thinking and feeling, "This woman is a piece of heaven given to us - she is pure and precious." Her voice was of the angels. I know Jennifer was certain of her Savior and confident in her eternal home. But knowing how to LIVE too....well, that she did with grace. I am praying for God's peace and love during this great time of loss for her beloved family. She loved you all so so so much and I know the grief is large.

Thank you Jesus, for bringing this beautiful woman here on earth to show your love so faithfully.

All my love,

Soraya Doherty and Family

When we moved to Maine 12 yrs ago Jen was the first to call and invite us to her home and to try to get to know us. All that she knew about us was that we had moved there because my husband had taken a Pastorate and she was so excited to have us come to the community. It meant so much that she took the time to do that...and led to many wonderful conversations sitting at soccer and baseball games together. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeff, Mindy, Sarah and Jimmy.

Mrs. Fowler was an amazing woman and teacher. I was blessed to have her for several different classes while I was in high school. Although it has been 20 years since I've graduated, I still remember her beautiful smile and how much she genuinely cared for us. To her family ~ I am incredibly sorry for your loss. My prayers are with all of you.
