Scott Partridge Obituary

Scott E. Partridge
1968 - 2017
SCARBOROUGH -
Scott Partridge, 48, passed away peacefully the evening of Tuesday April 4, 2017, after a long illness. He was born on May 20, 1968, in Augusta, the son of Charles M. Partridge Jr. and Joyce H. (Ellis) Partridge. He grew up in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in 1986.
After graduation Scott became a founding member of Twisted Roots, a Portland-based band, and he toured the country several times as guitarist with bands.
Some of Scott's favorite things were music and playing guitar, traveling with the bands, reading, flea marketing, camping with family and family gatherings. Scott was kind and outgoing, and he had great affection and interest in everyone he came in contact with. He was a creative storyteller and his joyful sense of humor was a delight to everyone.
When Scott returned to Maine he began working in the graphic arts field, then subsequently worked in the restaurant industry as well as retail sales. One of the highlights of his restaurant career that he was most proud of was when he helped cook Thanksgiving dinner at Bella Cuchina's for Bob Dylan and his band prior to their concert at Portland Civic Center.
Scott is survived by and will be sadly missed by his father and mother, Charles and Joyce Partridge of Augusta; his sister Cindy Partridge of Augusta, his brother Chuck Partridge III and wife Tina of Augusta; his nephew Charlie Partridge IV and niece Sydney Partridge; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his many friends.
Arrangements are in the care of Funeral Alternatives of Augusta. A memorial gathering at Logan House will be held at a date to be determined. A private family burial will take place later this spring.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Logan House and Gosnell Hospice Home, and express very special thanks to Scott's loyal friend Bob Powers who provided tireless, compassionate care and support.
Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives 198 Western Ave. Augusta. www.funeralalternatives.net.

I remember meeting Scott when we were forming Twisted Roots and he was the funniest guy I had ever met in my life. He was one of the only people who could make me laugh so hard that I had to gasp for air. Scott was an amazing bass player as well as a great songwriter. He had an incredible energy and humorous enthusiasm for music. Scott also had a very sharp and quick sense of humor that sometimes poked fun at me, but I could not help to laugh because it was always in good fun. It was with Scott that I experienced a behind-the-scenes introduction to Portland, from working on songs in the West End Cemetery to drinking terrible cheap wine and taking band photos at all the (then) abandoned corners of the city. Scott was always moving, thinking, inspiring and when he left Twisted Roots to join the Vampire Lesbos he continued to write some of the coolest bass guitar riffs. I was glad to hear him play. Scott was a great friend, we spent a good many years growing up and I am really glad to have had the opportunity to play with him. Scott, you will be missed by all who knew you rest in peace.

It is so hard at times like these to know what to say, except that I am extremely sorry for your loss. God saw that Scott had suffered enough with his illness and brought him home. Scott suffers no more, I know that it is hard for you folks, but please know that Scotty will always be with you in memory. He was a good person, a good man, and a good friend. R.I.P Scotty.
