Brett Burgess Beattie
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Brett Beattie son of Natalie (Burgess) Beattie of Newbury, Mass. and Bryce Beattie of North Berwick, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 23, 2014 in Framingham Mass.
Brett attended Windham High where he played soccer, basketball and baseball, he captained all three teams his junior and senior years, it was during those years he was named Windham High athlete of the year. He then went on to play basketball and baseball for St. Thomas More prep school. Ernie D. was on his basketball team that became national runner-up. Upon graduation Brett went to Georgia Southern to play baseball. Soon after he enrolled he enlisted and served in the US Army at the height of the Vietnam conflict. He worked in the printing industry for John Hancock, until they stopped doing their own printing. Brett worked in the construction industry and was a Clerk of the Works for a large construction firm in Boston. Brett had just retired in 2013.
Brett is survived by his mother Natalie, father Bryce and wife Beverly and her children Lauren, Leslie & Paul, long time partner Jeanne Penrod; her children E. Scott & wife Jane, Christopher and partner Traci, Kelley, Shawn; grandchildren Caitlyn and Jake of Framingham, Mass.; his brother Edward B. Beattie and wife Tracy of Hampton Falls, N.H.; their children Maura, Terence and wife Melanie, Jeremy and wife Lisa, Caitlin and Tara all of Mass. as well as many loving cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 2014 at the Cushing Chapel, 100 Dudley Road, Framingham, Mass. followed by a reception at the Framingham Lodge of Elks.
