Christine L'Heureux Obituary

Christine (Tina) L'Heureux, 82
     SANFORD -- Christine (Tina) L'Heureux, 82, of Sanford, left this earth on Wednesday March 14, 2007.
     She was born in South Portland, on June 17, 1924, a daughter of Edmund and Celeste (Doiron) Legere. Tina graduated from the old St. Ignatius High School.
     On May 18, 1946, she married Walter J. L'Heureux in Sanford and they were blessed with three children. She remained a lifelong communicant of St. Ignatius and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Tina was employed at the Goodall Mills, Sanford Dress Shop and Corey Shoe retiring in 1987.
     She enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
     She is predeceased by five sisters, Alma Whiting, Marie Towne, Eva Bouffard, Anna Willey, Helen Valliere; and one brother, Edmund Legere. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Walter J. L'Heureux of Sanford; three children, James L'Heureux and his wife Susan of North Berwick, Paul L'Heureux and his wife Debbie of Sanford, and Susan Young and her husband Allan of Sanford. She is also survived by one brother, Freddie Legere and his wife Lorraine of Westbrook; two sisters, Lillian Guillemette and her husband Paul of Springvale and Alice Legere of Sanford; eight grandchildren, Melissa Sullivan of Rochester, Jason L'Heureux of North Berwick, John L'Heureux of Sanford, Anne Purcell of Saco, Gwynne Almeida of Pawtucket, R.I., Nathan Goodwin of Shapleigh, Justin and Joshua Young of Sanford; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, at 11 a.m., at St. ThŽr�se of Lisieux, St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial will be later in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
