To all the Bolling family--
Please accept my deepest sympathy. Hazel and Red (and the Tastee-Freeze) were an integral part of my childhood, part of the extended family of Richland Street, Walnut Street, Providence Avenue, Pitt Street, and Hillside Avenue. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Bolling family, My sincere sympathies on the loss of your mother. I grew up in the "Red's" area of SP. In the early days of the "Tastee Freeze", as it was called in the early 50s, each neighborhood kid got a free cone on opening day. As a little girl of 7 I remember going to the window and getting my cone. It tasted so good I wanted another so back to the window I went. Mrs. Bolling was on "duty"this particular day and upon my request for another she said "Janie, you already had your cone but because you're so cute I'll give you another" and she did!!! Mrs. Bolling was a sweet, lovely lady and I know she will be missed very much. Jane Seymour Pearson

I never got to meet Hazel or Red, but I am eternally grateful to them for what their creation of what has become an icon in the lives of me and my loved ones, and anyone else who loves Fort Williams. Many a Sunday meant a drive there, always with a stop at Red's to pick out a sweet treat to enjoy as we absorbed that wonderful seaside place. I am so grateful to folks like the Bollings who creat unforgetable places for folks like me and mine. May God go with you as you say goodbye to your loved one, and may you always remember that she helped make sunshine in our lives. Frances Mains
