I think of Joe often. When I hear Love Shack is one of my favorite, happy memories. I'm sorry for Joe's passing and sudden departure, still so many years gone, I miss him.

Well Joe yesterday was Valentine's Day and I couldn't help but to cry from the pain of missing you. Missing you is the hardest emotion to deal with. I dont want anyone else. I cant believe it's been almost a year...though it feels like eternity has passed. I'm sure that makes no sense but thats how I feel. How can I have a partner when the world lost you because you loved me?

Joe, you are truely one of a kind. You were the one of the most giving and kindest individuals I know.( Besides my father. ) You will always be in my heart and memories. I love you and hope you are at peace now. I'll be Missing you.

To all of those who loved Joe,

I am one of you who loved Joe. We are the ones who were alone, together, in secret, in the dark, quietly, or with wild noise and abandon we lived, loving Joe.

I know I am not alone in my sorrow, my anger and my grief. Joe was my friend.

I know that the essence of Joe is still with me. I know that Joe is more available to each of us than he ever was when limited to this earthly body. I also acknowledge that my human-ness still misses him.

I bless the family of Joe. I send a blessing to his family of origin and his family of choice. I know that he has found peace with them all in this transition.

With love and gentleness,

Joe,

During dart league at The Maple Room, a few of us toasted in your honor. You touched the lives of many people, more important you touched my life. You would make a point to check up on me when I was closing at Trino's. You would lend me an ear as I went on and on about my problems. In return you'd always gave me great advice, even though I sometimes did not use it to my advantage. What was nice was that you never gave me a lecture. I can picture you looking down your glasses with your eyebrows raised, when you were about make a sarcastic remark, and it makes me laugh! It was fascinating how quick your mind worked.

I want to thank you for all the times you helped me out. I am a better person for knowing you. Joe you ARE a very special person. I will never forget you and you will be truly missed.

I can't believe you are no longer here....

Relationships are all that matter as I live these days. Everything else matters just as much as it doesn't. If I had been open to the universe I would have felt the vibrations that were so near. I could have helped to bring you to safety while you were here. I know you wanted it and many times shared the desire for help. Of all of my mistakes thus far, my communication with you was by far the worst. The realization of that error is the cause of an internal squeezing of my chest. It handicaps me less this week but, the pain to inhale, it still leaves me gasping.

EVERYBODY GOT A STORY

OF THIS I'M SURE YOU'RE AWARE

THERE'S NO NEED TO HURRY

CAUSE SOONER OR LATER

WE'LL ALL BE THERE

I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWERS

TO THE QUESTIONS WHY?

WHY YOU HAD TO GO SO SOON

WAY BEFORE YOUR TIME

THING'S WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

IN JUST A FEW MOMENTS

EVERYBODY'S LIVES WERE CHANGED

I HOPE THERE IS A SANE REASON

FOR THOSE OF US WHO REMAIN

MAYBE WE CAN MAKE A BETTER WAY

SO YOUR LIVES WHERE NOT IN VAIN

THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

IN JUST A FEW MOMENTS

EVERYBODY'S LIVES WERE CHANGED

Meet the power able to reduce our existence to a meager grain of salt. The earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and all of nature’s destructive forces,

We people are like the ants. When faced with natures greatness humans are ants and the people of this earth are those forces of nature, all unique, strong enough to squash any number of us with a cough from the sea so far away.

This poem is dedicated to my soul mate, the late Joseph R. Ogle. The International Library of Poetry is dedicating a page for it in their Poetry Anthology. My motivating power is Joe and all the love he supported me with. I shall dedicate my successes to you as well, once and for all – your wishes for me will be my reality.

JOE,

WITHOUT YOU AROUND TO BUG ANYMORE I ALMOST FEEL LOST, LIKE I LOST ONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS. I MISS HAVING YOU TO TALK TO. I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE, AND JUST BEING THERE FOR ME. I'LL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOU

Joe,

I miss you more than I can possibly express. In the short time we were friends, you were always there for me.

Good friends are extremely hard to find, they are even harder to loose.

I will never forget the dart games and all the long discussions solving "world problems."

Regards

Alan

The respect, honor and loyalty that you were in body are fundamental to that in which you tought me. I cant miss you more than I do...

You are my soulmate, my partner..

I love you. It's selfish of me to want you back so much, I'm sorry.

I know that you are blessed and blessing me too. I will not ever forget you. Until we unite again, I can hardly stand the wait.

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
