Kevin Shufeldt Obituary
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Kevin was born in Portland on Feb. 23, 1972 to James and Pauline Shufeldt. He passed away on March 20, 2017 in San Francisco, Calif.
Graduating from South Portland High School in 1990, Kevin went on to Bryant University, where he graduated in 1994 with a B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Economics. He was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an International Honor Society in Economics.
Kevin was employed as a Senior Analyst with the Worker's Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau from May of 1996 until the time of his death.
Left to mourn his death are his parents; along with his brother, Brian and sister-in-law Maura of Fitchburg, Mass. He also leaves two nieces, Erika and Natalie Shufeldt of Fitchburg, Mass.; his paternal grandmother Claire Ross Tewhey of Lewiston; his uncle Edward Shufeldt and his wife Luana of Duncan, Okla., his aunt Lucy Tanner and her husband, Robert Tanner of Falmouth, and Stuart, Fla.; and his cousin, James D. Shufeldt and his wife Beverly of Louisville, Ky.
Colleagues, friends, and family gathered to remember Kevin on April 7, 2017 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, Calif.

I've been thinking for weeks about what to write here and struggling to find the right words. But I think my problem is there are no words when a good man dies too young. I pray for strength for Kevin's family and that the pain of their grief helps them keep a piece of Kevin close. I hope that over time the tears turn to laughter through tears.
I'm going to miss Kevin a great deal but I feel lucky to have called him my friend.

Such a tragic loss. Kevin was more of a friend of a friend, though he did made a art history class I had to take much easier to bear. My thoughts & prayers are with him family.
