Nicholas Koutroulis Obituary

Nicholas Christos Koutroulis, 81
BIDDEFORD -- Nicholas Christos Koutroulis, 81, of Biddeford, passed away early Friday morning on March 15, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Sanford on April 1, 1931, the son of Christos and Chrissi (Fakeri) Koutroulis. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1949, after which he attended Boston University.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from the service, Nick worked in their family business, Springvale Bottling Company. On Sept. 1, 1973, he married his wife Stephanie. He later worked for Coca-Cola in South Portland.
Nick found pleasure in many things, but his two passions and great loves were his family and his Church. His presence brightened a room and drew people to him. His sharp wit stayed with him and kept his family laughing up until the end.
Mr. Koutroulis was a member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and the Lacones Society.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Stephanie Koutoulakos Koutroulis; three children, Christo, Pamela, and Peter Koutroulis; and three siblings, Helen Lotsikas and her husband John, Jerry Koutroulis, and Joy Gyllenhal. He also had many loving nieces and nephews.
His presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be from both 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, with Trisagion prayers at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Demetrios Cemetery in Biddeford. Dearest Stephanie and family,
I found out that your beloved husband and father passed away on the day of my own beloved Dad's funeral. May these two beautiful souls meet up in heaven and look after us, their loved ones. May the grace of our Lord help us endure this separation until we all meet again in the next life, where there is only joy. May we continue to fight "the good fight" and endure life's journey with the love, grace and dignity both these men exemplified. May the Lord grant, Nicholas, his beloved servant eternal peace and rest. God Bless you all.
With much love,
Eleni Fatsis (on behalf of the Fatsis Family)
