Steven Lewis Obituary

Steven Michael Lewis, 54
WINDHAM - Steven M. Lewis (St. Pierre), 54, died from complications of a massive heart attack on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Maine Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 1, 1961, in Methuen, Mass, the son of Albert and Pauline St.Pierre.
Steve graduated from Lewiston High School in 1979. Shortly after graduating, he moved to North Carolina to attend college. He lived in North Carolina for many years and worked at many jobs, including his own jet ski rental and parasailing business in Nags Head, N.C., and Key West, Fla. He moved back to Maine in 1999 where he met the love of his life, Ellen Preston. Together they have spent over 15 years enjoying life and traveling to places like Alaska, Florida, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona where they slept out under the stars along the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon.
He graduated from Mercy School of Radiologic Technology in June of 2008, then continued his education to graduate from Nuclear Medicine school in 2011. Steve was employed by Mercy Hospital as a radiologic technologist, lab assistant.
Steve loved being with his six grandchildren. Whenever he had a day off, he would make time to be with them, whether it was an all-day trip to the mountains of New Hampshire or a few minutes to go get ice cream. Over the last few years, trips with the kids included Orlando to see Sea World, Busch Gardens, Lego Land, Universal Studios, etc. Steve loved the roller coasters as much as the children did.
He had a love of music and enjoyed playing the piano, the guitar, and the harmonica. He and his friends would sit around for hours strumming guitar, singing and laughing.
Steve's passion was anything to do with flight. He loved hanggliding and flying. His dream was to obtain his pilot license and build his own plane.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Gil St. Pierre. Steve is survived by his loving life partner, Ellen Preston of Windham; parents, Albert and Pauline St. Pierre of Mobile, Ala.; sisters, Debbi St. Pierre of Mobile, Ala., and Bree St. Pierre and husband, Bill, of Greene; grandmother, Jeannette St. Pierre of Lewiston; stepsons, Mike Preston and wife Meesh of Windham, and Paul Preston and wife Melissa of Windham; six grandchildren, Reese, Julia, Jaren, Sam, Dean, and Strider, all from Windham; a sister-in-law, Deb Butters of Topsham; a mother-in-law, Charlotte Butters of Gorham; and nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff, nurses and doctors at the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Maine Medical Center for the loving care that Steve received while there.
Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 1:30-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, at

I will miss my friend Steve forever. I feel like I grew up with him in North Carolina as we both worked at McDonalds during that time and spent many weekends at the rec center playing ping pong, riding motorcycles and a little bit of 4 wheeling. There is a huge empty filling that just wont go away as a I think of a story to share with him as we would sometimes talk on the weekends about "old times" and remembering some great funny moments of the time. I miss you man. I miss you like a brother and it hurts still to this day. I do know that you are not suffering which is all I can ask for. I often think of Ellen as well and pray that she is finding peace with the rest of the family. I will never ever forget you my friend.

I have had many acquaintances over the years but no truer friend then Steve Lewis.Steve was like an older brother to me. My best friend (oddly enough he was a best friend to many. That tells you what kind of guy he was). He was my best man at my wedding. He never missed sending cards or calling on special occassions. I could go on for days. Steve I am really going to miss you. My condolences to Ellen and the Preston Family and to the St. Pierre's

My heart is heavy. Ellen and family I'm so sorry for your loss and ours. Steve was a wonderful guy who was so full of life. He often shared his retirement dreams with me and looked forward to the day he didn't have to punch a clock. He was a very dedicated and smart guy who knew how to fix anything and if he didn't he looked up the Utube video and learned how. I will miss my coworker so much. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ellen and Family
I am so sorry for your loss. We will all miss him very much. Steve was my computer helper at work. He always had little tips when he would come in to relieve me. I'm so sorry for the grandchildren. He talked about them a lot. If you need anything just call.
